Wait, so my donation is going to a freaking podcast?! In THIS climate?!

Nope. By donating here you're directly supporting The Bail Project which is combatting mass incarceration by providing "free bail assistance and pretrial support to thousands of low-income people every year," per their website.

You realize there are protests going on right now. Right?

Yes. The Bail Project is providing assistance to protesters in addition to their long-term work to help reform the criminal justice system.

Okay.... then how is the podcast related?

Small Triumph Big Speech is a show that takes someone's everyday accomplishment (taking out the trash, making the bed, folding laundry) and then celebrates it with a big, epic, graduation-style speech. If you donate through this fundraiser you're eligible to be a guest on the show. In the podcast's previous fundraiser we raised over $10,000 for domestic workers.

Ohhhhh. So you're just incentivizing donations to The Bail Project?

Yep.

But, like, why?

Because bail is a predatory tactic to keep low income people in jail pretrial, robbing them of the presumption of innocence. This is just my small way of helping out.
